Having specialised in essays for the academic world, the publishing company is in a phase of converting its contents to digital formats which are compatible with a number of different devices: from the e-book through the iPhone and including the Notebook. Parallel to this, Katz Editores is embarking on agreements with digital distributors, among them two from Spain, one from France and another in Argentina. Katz plans to bring his first e-books onto the market this January.
"We're exploring the new genres of the digital format including images and all multimedia sources", says Katz. He is aware that this change is fundamental and should not destroy the economic value of publishing. The other hope is that traditional bookshops can be preserved.
